Description
The Photostability Chamber is specifically designed to meet ICH Q1B Option 2 and FDA guidelines, ensuring reliable light and UV exposure testing for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and chemical products. Constructed with a stainless steel (SS 304) inner chamber and durable powder-coated or GMP-grade exterior, this chamber delivers exceptional performance and longevity. It features fluorescent LED visible light and UV light at 365 nm for controlled illumination, while the microprocessor-based PID controller maintains precise temperature and humidity levels. Equipped with steam injection humidification, safety interlocks, and automatic light exposure cutoff, the Cintex Photostability Chamber ensures accurate and compliant stability studies under uniform conditions.
Photosensitivity Chamber
- Newly developed Photostability Chamber designed to meet ICH & FDA compliance with illumination in accordance with ICH-Q1B Option 2 & 1 guidelines.
- Double-walled construction — Inner made of SS 304 and Outer made of GI Powder Coated shade in Regular Model; Inner & Outer SS 304 Matt/Buff Mirror Finish in GMP Model.
- Air circulation provided by a motorized blower installed at the top for temperature uniformity.
- Temperature and RH% controlled by independent microprocessor-based PID temperature controller with dual digital indicator, Class A PT-100 sensor, and capacitance type or imported RH% sensor.
- Heating provided by U-type SS 304 air heater.
- Fluorescent LED tube light fitted at the door to provide visible light measured in LUX.
- UV light of wavelength 365 nm (measured in watt/sq.m) fitted at the top of the chamber.
- Safety interlock door switch provided to prevent accidental UV exposure.
- Automatic switch-off system activates after the desired exposure of lighting energy amounting to 1.2w × 1000000L × hour is achieved.
- Humidification provided through a steam injection system with a stainless steel boiler tank equipped with a replaceable SS heater.
- Reservoir tank made of SS with float valve for continuous water supply to the boiler.
- Removable SS 304 rod-type shelves.
- Temperature Range: 10°C to 40°C.
- Temperature Accuracy: ±1°C.
- RH Range: 40% to 95%.
- RH Accuracy: ±2% RH to ±3% RH.
Optional
- Microprocessor-based PID temperature controller with printer output facility to record PV, SV, actual date/time, etc., with variable print time intervals, 5000-line memory, and audio alarm in case of memory full.
- 21 CFR Part 11 compliance software required.
- Audio alarm facility for temperature and RH% overshoot.
- Calibrated LUX and UV meters.
